Today, consumers are increasingly choosing more sustainable products. Since our inception, Trex products have been designed with sustainability in mind. Using innovative recycling methods, we transform recycled plastic film and reclaimed timber into beautiful outdoor decking products. Upcycling Extra Materials
Recycled Plastic
We partner with corporations, retail stores, consumers and others to proactively capture unwanted plastic film and upcycle it into beautiful Trex decking. In 2023, we diverted more than 320 million pounds of plastic film slated for landfill.
Reclaimed Timber
To produce our award-winning decking, we also use reclaimed timber, including timber dust, off cuttings, pallets and more. We partner with timber product manufacturers to capture their waste. In 2023, we used more than 516 million pounds of reclaimed timber fibre in our products.
Product Circularity
We make it a priority to build durability and materials efficiency into our products and processes. This includes ongoing R&D to study new sources of used plastic film and waste timber.
