“When I’m designing a space, I always think of feeling first. When envisioning an outdoor space inspired by Bryce Canyon, my mind immediately goes to that feeling - when you unzip your tent and emerge out into the crisp, cool air and then you get started on the ritual of making the morning coffee. The invitation to sit and savour the slowness, taking time to notice your surroundings. That’s how I want my morning coffee to feel on my own home deck.” - @oursouthwestnest

Leaving Behind Less Waste
and Greater Legacies

For years, Trex and REI have worked together to recycle plastic film waste to create Trex’s eco-friendly, long-lasting and beautiful outdoor product made from recycled materials. So when it came time to restore REI Signature Bryce Canyon campsite, it was only natural that we worked together to create an eco-conscious and sustainable building design that nurtures nature right back.
