Trex at Mariposa Meadows VISION House

Located in Colorado’s remote Gunnison National Forest, this net-zero research and education compound, featuring Trex decking, railing and other outdoor living products, demonstrates the art of the possible with respect to small-footprint, healthy living solutions.

With an emphasis on sustainability and design, the VISION House is an extraordinary tribute to outdoor living in harmony with the landscape. The Trex Outdoor Living Collection was critical to bringing this vision to life. Nestled at 10,400 feet and surrounded by pristine wilderness, this exclusive compound offers a serene environment for leadership retreats, educational activities, and team building. Material used in the build of the demonstration home had to meet the highest sustainability and design standards for the compound that sits in the midst of a radiant aspen forest. The products, colours and textures had to harmonise with the topography, geology, flora and fauna, but also had to deliver the best resistance to fire spread and weather threats. They also had to be extremely durable and resilient, requiring minimal maintenance given the location’s limited accessibility most of the year.
